The Pressure is On

So, now that I have four followers, I actually realize that real people are reading what I write. Yikes! Serious pressure.

It has been a hectic 24/48 hours. First, I received a jury duty summons which I sort of was expecting any time now, since I haven't been called since college. However, it arrived in a plain envelope from the court which made me think I was getting sued (or worse!).

Then, that evening, (side note: it's very difficult to dunk oreos and type a blog) I decided to keep up my "she's the nice one" persona and bake cupcakes in honor of a dear colleague's last day of work...I mixed all my ingredients...put them in their cupcake holders....and, in spite of me turning my oven to pre-heat an hour previous, it decided it just didn't want to turn on past 200 degrees. I was sooooo aggravated!!! I tried to cook them at that temp but alas it was not meant to be and they were dumped (um, maybe more like slammed furiously) into the garbage. Then I had to go to work after having promised cupcakes to my friend and say "my oven broke" which sounds a lot like "my dog ate my homework." DON'T ask me what I'm going to do about this oven situation because I really don't want to think about it....(well, besides the fantasizing I do on a daily basis about the house we will buy, that will have brand new kitchen appliances, right?)

Fast forward to today, when Bob called me at work to say that Claire had a 105 degree temperature totally out of nowhere. This news, naturally, completely freaks me out and I'm like "get her to the hospital." OY He must have been talking into two phones, because then I hear him say "Oh, 100.5..." WHEW. It really wasn't his fault; we were really scared there for a minute. (Update: She's fine. Granted, she barfed up her lunch but whatever she has it's mild.)

Alas, some good news. As you all know I've been waiting to hear if I got this promotion. Well the good news is that I still don't know! Haha, but, I know I'm still in the running and won't know anything until after Labor Day as the hiring supervisor will be on vacation.

So that's it for me. Hope you enjoyed reading. :)
