I have decided to get on the blogging bandwagon. It makes sense, really, for as much as I enjoy talking and writing. I really don't know what took me so long. I enjoy reading my cousin's blogs, and now one of my former colleagues is starting one to document his journey through college. And now me.
I have a slight idea what took me so long-- I am a mom! And my daughter is finally at an age where I am starting to slightly reclaim my life. Especially when she gets a special treat such as a viewing of "Little Einsteins" --guaranteed to have her mesmerized for 30 minutes. Yay! (Right now she is sleeping, though, and went down without a peep. She must have been tired!)
Speaking of Claire, she spent her first full day in the toddler room at daycare today, where she'll be officially moving to from her waddler room on Aug. 31. This is very exciting and will thankfully be a smooth transition since she is familiar with her teacher already and knows many of the other children since they were mixed at one point or another since birth. I know there is endless debate on staying home vs. daycare vs. nanny vs. family member watching child vs. other...and each and every family has a system that works best for them. Thankfully, Claire has been truly thriving at this daycare center and we couldn't be happier. She is a joyful, talkative, social, independent and intelligent little girl, and I believe much of this is to do with being in daycare starting at 12 weeks old. There are certainly pros and cons, but like I said I am grateful that this arrangement has worked out so nicely for us. I enjoy working outside of my home very much, and I am happy that Bob supports that and that Claire has a place she really enjoys going to everyday. When we leave she says "bye friends. see you tomorrow" I think it is the most adorable thing in the world! :)
Bob has been insanely busy at work these days due to "cash for clunkers." His sense is that we are going to benefit from it now, and have to pay for it later. I believe he is probably right.
And what about me? I am enjoying my last few weeks before school starts up for me again. This will be the first semester that I am taking two classes since becoming a mom. I hope I can do it! I am very eager to graduate next year. Thankfully Claire's teacher from the daycare has agreed to watch Claire for a few hours every Saturday so I can study. (Thanks, Casey!)
I am also in the waiting game to hear if I will be offered an amazing promotion at the University that I applied for last week. Keep fingers crossed for me!
That's all for now. Stay tuned!
